The Little Things...

I find it to be SO adorable whenever Waffles sticks her head out of her cube. I feel like she's going "Hey, I love you, so that's why I'm stickin' my head out and looking at you. Okay now it's time to sleep". I mean come on, how can her using her paw as a pillow like that not make you go "awwwww"!

Dessie M. Moxley Gardens

While I was wandering around campus the Dessis M. Moxley Gardens were open! Of course I had to jump inside and take pictures. They had a section filled with flowers to attract butterflies (my favorite). The butterflies were very kind with posing for me. They were probably like "there, now go away human". I loved the geometric shape benches too. 

My Campus: Summer Mini Tour

I thought it would be fun to share a peak of my college campus! One of the reasons I fell in love with Maryland is the campus, it is so beautiful. I also thought it would be cool to make this into a mini series during my last year at Maryland. I am going to take pictures of the campus during each season because honestly it looks wonderful no matter what season it's wearing.

  1// Fun fact! Jim Henson, creator of The Muppets, attended University of Maryland. We have this statue outside of our student union to show our pride. 

2// This is one entrance (and the prettiest) to our student union, more commonly called "STAMP" because of its namesake, Adele H. Stamp. The building is a lot bigger from what you're probably getting from the picture. 

3// McKeldin Library is our main library on campus and is at one end of our academic mall. University of Maryland has the largest academic mall in the country. 

4// Anne Arundel Hall is one of the honors dorms on campus located right behind the library. I wanted to make sure you got the feeling of the architecture that I love so much on this campus.

5// These are some really neat fountains by our art-sociology building. 

6// The Capital One football stadium, home to the University of Maryland Terrapins! 

7// This piece is actually on the side of the alumni building and I only discovered it on my walk back from the stadium (which I walked all the way over to only to realize it was locked). 

8// Testudo! Testudo is a terrapin and he is our mascot. We have a few of these type statues around campus. This one I discovered by the alumni center, there's another in front of McKeldin (most popular), and a hollow one inside of STAMP. I'm sure there are probably more that I don't know about but there are also other statues that are painted with designs. 

9// His nose is shiny because it's tradition to rub the nose for good luck! Around finals, students will leave snacks and such for the Testudo outside of McKeldin.

Going to the Fair

We finally made it to the county fair! Casey and I finally had the time (and one of us wasn't ill *coughme*) to go to the fair and just in time because we caught it on the last day. We walked around and looked at the goats, sheep, pigs, cows, and rabbits. Casey super loves goats so I took him to them first. This mama and her baby goat were my favorite of the goats.

There was a mini garden that you could walk through which had these stunning flowers.

Finally we watched a chainsaw carving demonstration done by one of the Chainsaw Chix.

We said goodbye to the fair without going on any rides to Casey's disappointment. Maybe I'll have more courage next year. Rides terrify me, so maybe not.
